Bad Hair Day

The winds are changing and there are clouds in the sky. Some thunder rumbled by earlier. I am going to the centre of Spain in a few weeks, to a place where you can lie on your back in the fields and watch the Milky Way spread all across the sky.

I will look in the pine trees for Moorish and Roman ceramic remains. I will watch the vultures and I will go to the secret garden where I used to take my daughter when she was teeny.

Next Door Neighbour

This is what Arthur, my dog, sees when he sticks his head through the hedge that borders onto the neighbour's garden. There is a wild cat who visits there and he stands just a centimeter outside of where Arthur can stretch his neck and the two of them try to outstare each other.
Definate change in the air again today. Autumn is coming. Hooray.
Here's a link to my hero. Paco de Lucia.

Tiling Dogs

You know those people that can draw perfect circles? Well, I just drew a perfect square!! I am trying to work out how to do seamless tiling, which as you can see, I didn't line up properly in a few places. This is a) because my eyesight is failing. b) I need new reading glasses. c) I am working at the wrong scale. d)I don't know what I am doing.
Anyway, I put all the dog faces on one image which was about 1.500 pixels wide and I wanted to select a square from the image so I selected a portion and when I came to resize it to 500 pixels it was spot on...right down to a pixel!!!! I am sure there is something to press that would automatically select a square like pressing the control key or something but I still astonished myself.
Okay, here's a link to a shipbuilder. He probably built the "Mary Rose" and the "Titanic" too.

Soriano Mountain Dog

Ooo er...this looks weird. There's not enough room to type. I'm off to practise the guitar and try not to spend an hour and a half on the new flamenco book. I have to stop jumping to level 5 which I can't play. It's frustrating because I want to play absolutely everything and all at once and finally my two broken nails are growing back.
Too hot here.
Here's a link to an artist I just discovered. He draws as if in a dream and the soundtracks are perfect. He's also very funny, so go and have a look.

Now I have the tripod in here too to try and make a video of a cartoon in progress so there is no room to move at all. Anyway, I tried videoing the monitor as I was drawing on the wacom tablet but that didn't work.
But the cupboards are full of things I have made, collected, been given over years and years so that is that. Can't possibly throw anything away

Con CariƱo

Arthur sleeps through everything except thunderstorms. He tries to get in the bath if it's rumbling outside.
The village is counting the days until the tourists leave. I don't understand why everyone has to drive everywhere. It's a lot faster to walk around the place than navigate the streets. There are not enough traffic lights so coming into the village is a nightmare. I should work for the tourist board.

Don't play the guitar and fry chorizo together

What a weird morning! Couldn't believe my luck to discover that Maria Linnemann, composer, guitarrist, lover of Scots lore is on Youtube! Which of course I found via Per Kindgren, a brilliant guitarrist. Wait, is that one or two "r"s...guitarist, guitarrist, guitarist.
Anyway, I thought, oh right, let's dig out "Canzone d'Amore" which I can now play but still have never made it all the way through without a mistake! I should point out that I had just put on a chorizo sausage to cook which husband had tried to feed me raw last night. I notice he didn't have a bite after the taste test.
There's another funny thing...I actually use one of the titles of a piece of her music as a password. So I played around with that a bit and thought, boy that chorizo is noisy so I went into the kitchen, which is not big enough to swing a cat in, and the chorizo burst into flames! And because I was cooking it in a fancy, little, heavyweight pan the handle was red hot, so I picked it up with a towel and walked very slowly through the sitting room and out the door where I almost set fire to the carob tree. Whoever heard of a chorizo fire? I will eat it for lunch and teach it a lesson.Yes, I quite often burn stuff but never had anything actually catch fire, although husband did set fire to the last chimney by cooking lamb chops in it.
Anyway, here's a link to Maria Linnemann.
