Lettering

Wow! Look at this fancy lettering. I drew it in Corel Draw...I think I did?

On my bike ride this morning I noticed:
a).Everyone had on a pair of spectacles.
b).Everyone was talking on a mobile.

All the people talking into their mobiles said things like, "I'll call you back later." Or, "Did you get my call?". Or, "I'm calling you because you called me." And finally, "Hello, hello? Can you hear me?" And finished off with, "I can't hear you. You're breaking up."

There is a cartoon in there somewhere.

The Perfect Wave

Madame Tortue and Leopard Man. Madame Tortue was done both in scraperboard filter and brush drawn. I used the watercolour filter on Leopard Man.

The electricity keeps going on and off as the workmen outside place street lamps outside. Nobody is very pleased about their arrival as we are all used to living in the dark at night. I will miss the starry skies. They probably won't light up for years to come as all the workmen are arguing with the council because they want to put the posts where there is a group of pine trees growing in the middle of the street but they don't have permission to cut them down.

It's cold, cold, cold and snowing everywhere else but not here.

Meeting a Snowlady.

There are people sunbathing in shorts and T-shirts on the beach today! Next week it is supposed to freeze. My daughter used to look like this. Now she is a Goth.

Playing around in Corel, Paintshop and Photoshop.

Sin Titulo

Anything is possible with a Wacom tablet! Why didn't I get one before?

The mouse fur was done with a spiky tool and then I warped some spikes. The original size was 1000 pixels by 1000. You get better results if you work large and reduce later.

The sun is shining but everything still abandoned. Most of the people that live here year round own bars and restaurants and this is the month they all go off to The Dominican Republic or Cuba. They are all millionaires.

The village I used to live in won 96 million pesetas in the Christmas lottery. It's a very, very small village so there must be a lot of happy folk there now. Oddly enough I phoned two of my friends there (not about the lottery) and nobody is answering. Maybe they are in Cuba too?

Guitarist.

The fewer lines I use the more complicated a drawing becomes.

The beach and town are strangely deserted today. I wonder if there is a storm coming because there is an odd feeling in the air. The villagers are all saying it's very "raro" today. However, my premonitions rarely come true and when they do they are invariably a couple of days late or early.

Went to the English Pub here last night. Any English people I have met here all seem to miss Britain terribly and have no Spanish friends. They all have dreadful problems with building permits and want to live in fincas in the middle of nowhere. I wouldn't want to live in the mountains. They are crawling with ex-military from Kosovo who break into houses.

Wild hair.

You see...I did it again! I forgot to write down what settings I had the doodling pen set at. I am a moron. I actually got the line to act like pen and ink. I love ink in real life but my pens always either clog up or send out a huge sploosh which spatters over everything. However I hold a pen I always have ink up to the first joints of my fingertips. Back to the drawing tablet.

The sea is as smooth as silk today. The campsite virtually empty. It is the most peculiar feeling cycling through the next village in the mornings. There are never any people except for one old man who trundles along the promenade with his zimmer frame. He says good morning now. It only took two years to acknowledge my wave as I go by.

Seahorse

Weehaaaaa! John Martyn playing on new speakers here. Wow. Can I create with this kind of music on? Difficult to sing, draw and dance at the same time. What is it about music that makes the soul sing?

Bear

Playing around with a watercolour filter.

The sea looks like mercury today. Thick, silver, and when the sun came out the water turned an astonishing shade of blue. A surprising amount of people wandering along the seashore. It was King's Day here in Spain yesterday. The three Kings come to all the towns and villages and hand out sweets to the children. The biggest nearby town, Reus, handed out over 5,00 kilos. It also heralds the end of the Christmas season which sort of started around December the eighth. Spain has effectively been closed for business for almost a month.

Full Moon?

Glad to get last year out of the way. Too windy to bike and the Wacom Tablet doesn't want to play.
