One Moment Please...
I've just upgraded to Ultrafractal 4.0, the animated version. Wahoo....Opening up new worlds. Once I get the hang of it I will be able to design entire universes. I better get in touch with William Shatner.
And on another note...Here is a link to the site of the lady who does the announcements on the London Underground. She has a spoof section which is very funny as is her blog. She is a voice over artist and has done all sorts of things. Why did I not even know this profession existed when I was at the beginning of things?

Fractals
The background is a fractal done with Ultrafractal 4.0 and then Corel PhotoPaint. I seriously have to learn to animate. This could open up endless possibilities.
Here is a link to a really rather creepy animation but it's brilliant. I dream about stuff like this so to see someone animate it is quite unerving.
I wouldn't watch it immediately before going to sleep though.

The Bed Broke!
I woke up at five o' clock two mornings ago amidst a dream that I was on a sinking ship. Crack, crack, crack, sound effects and everything. The bit about the boat was a dream but the sound effects were the bedframe breaking...completely on its own. Thank goodness Arthur was not asleep on top of the shoes underneath. He would have been squished.
After two nights of sleeping on the mattress on the floor I am curiously wrecked.
Here's a link to a small video of photos of flowers and bugs that I made. The photies that is.
The illustration of a bonsai tree is done with fractals (Ultrafractal 4) and Corel Paint 12.

More than One of Me?
How weird is this? I'm going through old accounts and updating things and come across my page on My Space which I had forgotten about mainly because I can't figure out how to upload stuff there. Anyway...I typed in my name "Maureen Chlorine" and up comes this 99 year old in the States with the same name. How did we land up with the same name? Is there a REAL Maureen Chlorine out there? Is the name from the depths of my subconcious and I didn't invent it at all? Am I going to have to change the name of my cartoon character? I can't do that...it would be like changing my own name. How strange. I will take this as a sign to get off my backside about Maureen. She's been hibernating for months. I should put her back on paper instead of being digital.
Talking of signs...there is a skylong-length cloud above the mountains outside. It is flat, pure white and the air is like looking through frosted glass. What am I supposed to be seeing? A confusing day to say the least.
Anyway, I sent the other Maureen Chlorine a message. I wonder if she will reply? "Dear Maureen", she might say, "Maureen is not my real name."
Not mine either.

Scary Kid
Someone asked today..."What do you do...?" I don't think there is a job description that fits. Sometimes, I am a painter of oil paintings, other times I have been a tapestry weaver, inbetween times an ironer of napkins for a restaurant, a sweeper of floors in the same restaurant.
I wrote several books which are unpublishable and I love music.
I once worked in a toyshop which was great but many, many years ago. And, even longer ago I illustrated a kid's book and then I had a daughter which took up a lot of time telling her stories and making things out of stones and wood and plants. And, I've done the housewife bit too.
Hopefully I will find out what I am supposed to be doing here before I die. But I suspect I might not. I also would like to be... a reflexologist a cartoonist, a composer, a scriptwriter, a goldsmith, a pianist, a flamenco player and a luthier but there is not enough time. On second thoughts I should probably die around sixty because I certainly will not be eligible for a pension.

Paper Dresses
A friend sent me her slideshow of the period costumes and I wondered why she had entitled it "Paper Dresses".... because...they are made of paper as it turns out.

An Angel on my Head
That's quite weird. This image was more orange when I was working on it. I really do have an angel on my head. It's a headband all the way from Toronto. But, I don't have blue eyes. I just wanted to see what I would look like with blue eyes. I also ironed out the lines across my forehead an lo and behold I met someone I knew years ago. Me!
